to paint or not to paint??

ok just got a new real 21 t bucket! its got a really nice paint job but its yellow and i hate yellow cars! and "COOP" yes the artist that does all the naked fat chicks and devils striped and did alittle painting on the back of it, I kinda like what he did on the back of it but not super attached to it but i do Hate the yellow! would it be a crime to paint over it?

 

The only "crime" would be to try to live with a color you hate.

Its your car, make it yours if youre not into it. Im not into those headers though...

 

Paint it to your liking or, if you cant bring yourself to paint it, sell it. No reason to own a vehicle you are not happy with. My 2 cents.

 

What color do you want it to be? Will you aiming for a era that is early '60's? Metalflake, motor dressed more retro, ect.

 

I'm not a big fan of yellow either, yeah I would repaint it if it was mine. I mean it's your car do what you want.

 

When time comes to freshen it up, pick a color you like and put on a new tail gate. Hang the old one in your garage or shop. Gary

 

Hell,its yours now.Paint it the way you want. Lose the headers,air cleaner,tach on cowl,clean up the wiring on the engine and you might be happy with it. I for one don"t think the Happy Days lettering on the back is outstanding anyway. You asked!

That's my thought too, will that tail panel on the box come off? If so, I'd take it off and save it, put a different one on the car then paint the car. It's neat artwork but it's kinda ugly on the car, and I'm not a fan of the yellow either.

yeah the tach is gone, air cleaner is off, not sure what kinda headers i want to do yet, changeing the wood dash to something else but other than the ugly paint and few not period correct parts it is a solid body and frame, the motor is a 62 buick fast fun car got a great deal always wanted a real bucket! yeah kinda likeing the taxi idea!! so we will see!!

 

paint it and hang the old tailgate in your shed. COOP's on the HAMB isnt he? PM him im sure he'd repaint it for you

 

Well, it's your car so personalize it by making any changes you want. However, I like yellow t-buckets.

 

Why are you asking us? If you don't like it change it. If you can live with it, then live with it. do you conduct a survey when you get dressed in the morning?
