I saw an ad in rebel rodz magazine, but other than that not much advertising. I would thing the HAMB would be the first place to try and spread the word.

I meet the guy who is running this in feb. He seemed okay. However unless he changed the website it specifically stated they wanted rat rods. No thanks, I don't support this event. He also had all kinds of vague charity info listed on the site on how they are helping the community and how all the proceeds are going to some charity organization. I emailed him and he couldn't tell me what organization he was involved in or any details. I am pretty sure it is not a charity show. Matter of fact i am a little upset that they p*** off as a non-profit when I am sure they are not. I see they now have a different charity organization listed from what they originally had on the site. I don't have a good feeling about this show. You won't catch me there.

Read the site closely........"Welcome to DOG DAYZ! We have been looking to serve our community for as long as we can remember. Our organization is working at its finest and now we are looking to push forward and help those who are in need. We are asking you that you support our organization through regular participation in our annual activities."

Twice, I specifically asked what organization he speaks of and could not get an answer. Read over the site carefully, besides the spelling errors, it is a bunch of hogwash. I don't support someone who fakes a charity info to try to profit from it.

    this explains the charities sort of;

"Annual Vintage Motorcycle & Pre-66 Hot Rod Festival

Our 1st annual charity festival will be held on August 27th. We looking forward to have many people in attendance. We will have a wonderful selection of food and games. Everyone will have no problem having great time. We are looking to raise money for our recipient of the events proceeds which is the Basic Needs Giving Partnership within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region!!!

The Basic Needs Giving Partnership focuses on local and regional organizations that address the root causes of poverty, focusing on four priorities:

§ Helping at-risk children become healthy and ready to succeed in school
§ Helping working families meet their basic needs and build financial ***ets
§ Empowering, dignifying and supporting individuals affected by aging and dementia with low or fixed incomes
§ Implementing innovative and culturally appropriate models promoting the control and prevention of disease and chronic illnesses, especially diabetes, a**** the uninsured and underinsured population.
For more information on Basic Needs funds please visit the below links:

    Community Foundation or Their Facebook!

Dog Day'z is not only there to help out the local community but also wants to help on a national level. Its because of this we are happy to announce that Dog Dayz can be considered a supporter benefit: An event to benefit To Write Love On Her Arms."

Hello to EVERYONE. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Anthony and I am the coordinator and promotional manager for this event. I have read your posts on my event and I take the criticism at heed. I could even go as far as respecting your perception based off of the information that is provided or any other information that you have viewed. In the following I will address the concerns, comments, and hopefully sway your feeling about what I have put together. First of all I want to make a couple things clear so there is not any misunderstanding or misconception of who I am or the charity activities of the event. I am going to be completely honest with you. First of all I am not expert when it comes to hot rods, bikes, nor any type of vehicle for that matter. But I can say that I have been a fan of what this culture brings since I can remember. So I am not going to try to act like some professional gear head when I am not. I started planning this event for a completely different reason besides being a fan of hot rods and vintage bikes. Three years ago I made a drastic change in my life and decided to kick my thirteen year drug addiction. Three years ago I was living on the streets, overdosed twice, and nearly lost my life. I come from a troubled home riddled with emotional, physical, and psychological abuse that would leave you speechless. With that being said, I am grateful for the individuals, especially my beautiful wife and children, and the communities that helped me to change my life around. During this time of getting clean many different people started coming up to me asking for me to speak at schools, in groups, meetings, write a book, etc. People came out and told me that I motivated them in a way that most can’t; motivated them to make a change in their lives, a change for the better-not everyone has that influence. This is when I decided to start forming an event that would allow me to help out those who are in need. My original hopes where to help those that I could directly relate with. Those being individuals that struggled in poverty stricken neighborhoods, had a bad up-bringing, struggling teens, young mothers, kids of addicted parents, those who struggled with self-harm, addiction, suicide or in other words those who have struggled like me and those I grew up with. Dog Day Afternoon is making is first annual attempt at making that difference. I too wish there was a more specific program in the Fox Cities that could help these types of individuals. Instead, a majority the programs run off of a grant basis. The Basic Needs Giving Partnership within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region was the closest program that would give us the opportunity to help poverty stricken neighborhoods or communities that struggled with addiction, crime, etc. The Basic Needs fund has helped out programs like STEP, NAMI, Harbor House, and Building for Kids. They have raised fifteen thousand for Best Friends of Neenah and The Community Clothes Closet, and over forty thousand for the Salvation Army. To further push our initiative to help those struggling with addiction and building suicide awareness we will be giving fifty percent of our charity proceeds, whether that would be small or big, to To Write Love On Her Arms or TWLOHA. This is a company that is very involved with helping out those who have struggled; they have an unbelievable vision, are easy to work with, and are deeply involved with music; which is another p***ion of mine. When you start taking a look at the statistics Wisconsin's alcohol consumption and the increase in addiction you would appreciate what I am trying to do. For example, Wisconsin has the highest consumption of DUI rates in the United States. With the country’s highest number of per capita alcohol consumption, underage drinking, binge drinking at an early age, alcohol related fatalities and an increased amount of drug trafficking and addiction problems. Now you can start to see this is a real concern. This epidemic cannot be defeated if we just sit back and watch it happen. TWLOHA works with Wisconsin related programs such as Hopeline.com and is one of the initiating responses to the problem that Wisconsin carries. With individuals suffering with depression, substance abuse, anxiety disorders, and suicide all across the nation, Wisconsin ranks as one of the highest in carrying that problem. I am hoping that we can help build a deeper initiative to build up our community through the activities at Dog Day Afternoon and eventually develop more pinpointed programs that help deter these specific issues. Events like this, and other community initiatives/support, is the only way this will be accomplished. Being that this is a first event we opened the doors to basically any pre-66 vehicle, cl***ic motorcycle, and custom painted rides in hopes a bigger turnout which in turn helps us to raise more charity proceeds. I know from viewing the posts from few different people on the HAMB there was some additional concern on the coverage of the event. As a marketing major and first time event coordinator I like to think we did rather well communicating the event. We all should know here the first year is one of the toughest. With that being stated The City of Appleton didn’t look too highly upon a motorcycle event and it took much for this to get approved in late June. This of course held us back from fully promoting the event. Even so, we have created a good amount of word of mouth by working with other event coordinators of other motorcycle shows in the, visiting like event, etc. We happen to be on thirty different public access websites which includes our own fan page and website. We also put out over 1500 hundred flyers that spanned out through the, Madison and other like events, initiated email marketing, and directly worked communicated with many if not all of the motorcycle clubs in Wisconsin. As stated, we were in Rebel Rodz magazine and we have been running two different digital billboard ads; one in Kaukauna and one closer to De Pere. Those alone should give us about 1 million unique impressions at sixty-five percent viewer ship. The marketing is pretty good considering that this is the first year. I really focused on the gr*** roots of guerilla marketing and communication because thats what was most appropriate and successful for a first time event. I didn’t hear about Symco until late of last year and I don’t go around saying their response rate or marketing is weak. Additionally, we are not tying to p*** ourselves off as a non-profit. I just started my own promotional based company and it has been established as an LLC. This is why Dog Day Afternoon is a SUPPORTER BENEFIT where a portion of the proceeds will be divided/donated to the charity organizations listed above. We also have never changed the charity organization since we posted it on the website. It is against community policy to place false claims or state a relationship with a charity organization. We did though take the community foundations logo off and stuck with TWLOHA’s instead. At this point I hope you understand that comment like “Twice, I specifically asked what organization he speaks of and could not get an answer. Read over the site carefully, besides the spelling errors, it is a bunch of hogwash. I don't support someone who fakes a charity info to try to profit from it” or “That description reads like a Nigerian money scam” are completely unacceptable and untrue. This will no longer be accepted and I would appreciate it if you keep your comments to yourself. Dog Dayz will cover their expenses and give the rest to charity; there is no profit for me, staff, nor my LLC at all. Instead of making your own ***umptions, calling me out on the HAMB, or trying to destroy my creditability you would call me like a man and ask me specifically what to expect from this event. I do not appreciate your comments but like many have said “you don’t know what you don’t know” And now you know-thank you so much! Sincerely, Anthony from Feel Felt Sound, LLC. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I read through Anthony's post. I think he has good intentions for this show. Alan, I am glad to see that you jumped on here and explained the show better. No one likes a one sided argument. I plan to bring the 53 to the show. It will be the first show that the car makes it too, so that's cool. Good luck with the show, hope you get a good turn out.

1500 flyers. We p***ed out 15,000 the first year for Symco.

Good for you getting clean. i respect that. I fully understand your desire to do something good and I fully support anyone doing such a thing....but....

Read my last post in this thread. I asked you twice on this via email months ago with no straight reply. I specifically want to know what is the organization you speak of? This paragraph was on your website long before you picked your charities. You don't p*** yourself off as a non-profit but yet you are are part if some organization who is is ready to push forward to help those in need. You also want us to support your organization but how can we if we don't know what it is? What is this organization???????? Ill ask again please.

Don't give us the line about your charities because like I said you had this info up online long before charities were picked. I'll gladly dig up my old email on it to refresh my memory

....and this is a very anti-rat rod site. If your supporting rat rods you won't get a lot if support here.

Oh yeah and your buddy who emailed me swearing at me, insulting me and carrying on about how big an idiot and loser I am..... I hope this isnt a reflection on the type of people in your "organization". He needs anger management.

Well, it's incredible this post is getting so much attention ?!?

As an attendee to day of this event, I would have to say it was a great event for a 1st year.

#1 - It was a FAMILY event. The staff were involved with crowds etc. and the "reflection" of the organization was amazing!

#2 - Cliffy.....for someone who does a FOR PROFIT carshow, you are one to talk about who, what, or where the money for the event is going. IT'S NOT GOING IN HIS POCKET!!!! WHERE DO YOUR PROCEEDS GO????????????

#3 - Again, Cliffy, if you are so worried, call the organization he has listed. The organizations were made very clear on media, print and the website.....numbers are provided as well.

As lastly, for someone who holds a well known event, your negativity here makes me, at the very least, unsure about attending your event again.

I, for one, think it was an amazing event. I look forward to the growth of this event in the future. It is definately something many people are looking forward to next year.

    Kudos to you, Anthony!

I'm pretty sure I have not seen a post with pictures from this event posted. And the Cheaters show was today. And let me tell you. It was AWESOME as usual. Bad idea to advertise in Rebel Rodz. That magazine should just sell there pin up calendars for a buck. That magazine is a disgrace to hot rods and customs.

Anthony, I did ask you on email this spring who YOUR organization was and I did not get any type of answer from you about it. I am not questioning where you are giving your money to.

All I have been asking from day one is to tell us who the organization is. I had to read through a huge pile of fluff in your reply to figure it out, but I get it now, your Feel Felt LLC promotional company is this organization. Why does the website and your answers have to be so vague? There is not one single spot in your site I can find that speficially says who your organization really is.

I still think it is confusing and you certainly make it sound like your organization is a charity or non-profit group. Is it or not? This has nothing to do with the organizations your donating show profit to.

The reason I question your intentions are because you type all this fluff on your site but back it up with nothing. Okay, this is still what I would like to know....

"Our membership is growing at a steady pace." Who are your members? You had this statement on your site back around March. So at that time, how many members did you have and who are they? According to the Wisconsin Dept of Financial Ins***utions, your LLC was not created until 8/2/2011.

"With this growth, we have been able to accomplish more, and have a larger impact upon our community." What is all of this stuff that your organization has accomplished? Again, this was up on the site in March when I first saw it.

I certainly can tell you what I have done....
I have put on an event that has, in three years, grossed over $80,000 for the registered non-profit Symco Union Threshermen's Club. They have made a much higher net profit than I have all three years. Not to mention the thousands of dollars I have spent out of my own pocket to try to keep my friends, family and volunteers happy. Those who know me know I am doing this because of the great people and give back to them as I can. Just tell us what we want to know instead of skirting the issue by trying to make me look bad.

And your buddys certainly are not nice people. I'll refrain from posting the vulger email I got from one of your members. Please show me what I have done to you other than show my lack of support because of your liking to rat rods and wishy washy info on your website. And you all attach me personally. Tisk Tisk Tisk.

    the website CLEARLY states ;

"to write love on her arms" and " the community foundation of the fox region - basic needs fund" as the charities

AND I am pretty sure that "organizations", "LLC's" and "businesses" are able to put on charity events ????

someone sounds salty......word on the street is...cliffy you have your own problems to deal with...within your "organization" :) maybe you should focus on your business....not others.

funny thing is , no one has said a bad word about symco......and all you symco boys want to down-grade a small little show in Appleton?
Disappointing........but at this point...it is to be expected from anyone involved with symco....

By the way Cliffy, I live 30 minutes from Symco....and I didn't find out/hear about symco until this year....them 15,000 flyers aren't getting too far :)

With an at***ude like that I'm glad you haven't came. Our show isn't for you. Dont come ever please. You won't fit in. I market specifically to the groups who support traditional hot rodding in a positive way. Obviously I am doing it very right.

Yet nobody can still answer my questions without attacking us. What do you have to hide? the more I ask the more nasty you guys seem to get. What gives?

And for the record we have no open issues to deal with in regards to the show. Everything is near perfect at this time.

I think your just upset the event was a flop and looking to blame me for making a little criticism about it. Hopefully you'll all just go away.
