Those are my favorite Caddys. Many of them seem to be priced quite reasonably. Is there still a good supply of them out there? Is that why they seem to be priced low? There is a guy near me that has had two pretty nice ones for sale for 20K for a couple of years now. They seem to be one of those cars that would never be worth as much as it costs to do a proper restoration on one. Mind you, I guess that goes for alot of this old stuff.

Well it was a public auction so the price can be posted. $5500.00 And yes it seems to be VERY solid. he's going to score a new battery and see if we can get her to run. Love those those big chrome ****s! And how cool is that tag of the orginal owner? Anyone know the cubes on that engine?

    COOL CADDY!

    Those are known as Dagmars.

Named for this early 50's TV comedienne Dagmar.

Nice '56...looks solid...and can make a great cruiser, however, 1955 Caddy's had bigger "****'s" (Dagmars), matter of fact, the '56's were downsized a bit from the previous year.

    Mine, for comparison:

Oh, and the grille is a custom (by me) one-off unit, polished...Ogden Chrome in Ogden, Utah, handled the rechrome on the Dagmars....

You can see the rest of my 5 year 1955 Cadillac build here:
