Cool! That would be a fun trip. Im gonna look into a new wiring harness for mine.

I woke up early this morning and got it up and running and took it on a 45 mile cruise with no problems.

The new trans is leakin shit all over my garage, looked like it was leakin outta the pan, so I took it over to the guy who swapped out the trans for me and I tought we fixed it, but now it looks like its leakin higher up from on of the lines going into the trans. I have to raise the front of my engine up a half inch or so to get the proper angle. Just more shit to do! The C-notch is going in this weekend though! Than flipping the axel, and hopefully Ill get a dropped axel for the front with my next paycheck! Soon as I get it sittin how I want I'll start the long over due process of painting it! :D

Transmission isnt leaking anymore, put in new spark plugs and a new fuel filter. Runs so much better now! I also pulled the tank out and hopefully fixed whatever was making it reek of leaking gas.

My steering wheel has a lot of slop to it, and it dances all over the road. Ive doen some research and havnt really found anything on how to tighten up the steering.

My friend was saying there was a set screw you cant tighten up like half a turn to tighten it up, but mine dosnt have that. Is there something simalar Im just not seeing? Thanks...

taylor, look through this website, there might be a section that can help you.

    http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/index.htm

when i first bought my 57 it wandered all over the road too. but once i put new tires and the dropped front axle on it, it drives like a dream. still have a little slop in the wheel, but it dont affect the drivablility.
new tie rod ends and the new king pins and tires did wonders.

    good luck.

Thanks! Found the section I was lookin for. Its a pretty much brand new front end with new kingpins, tie rods, etc, so I think its gotta be in the steering box.

perfect... good luck.... and if your running the original style ball bearing set up, i have heard that that can affect the ride quality on these old trucks too. when i went with Sids front end, i also went with a disc brake set up and now have roller style bearings.

Ya Ill get a video of it soon. It feels like it dosnt have a as much top end speed now, is that because there is less back pressure now?

nice exhaust system taylor. like the pie cut ends.
im sure there are a bunch of different views on the back pressure issue, but i dont have any experience with that. keep up the good work.
