i have past cops at 8am in the morning in my wifes old t that had zoomies without baffles.....they just looked (and probably just shook their heads...) i do work for some of the county cops in my area .... had one look at my hurst piecrust ....said ..hey you can't drive those on the street .....i showed him the dot on the side ....he said good enough for him .....like every one else has said ...i think the drivers attitude and how there driving has a lot to do with it .....the stretch of road in front of my shop is the test strip.....about 1/8 mile of straight road.....we occassionally will do alittle tire rotation testing ....but no one complains.....

also ...how far is us 43 from knoxville.....or nashville.....? they have a ihra points meet going on there next weekend.......thanks brandon (4 wheel brake equipt.....even got some floors......)

  3. Go to Wisconsin..., our Cops are deaf...!!!

It seems that all around Milwackey we have millions of Harleys running around with loud exhaust systems..., and to have an open piped Hotrod is less of a nuisance...!!!!!!

And why can't you run a car without a windshield...??? Most Motorcycles don't run one and as long as you wear Goggles you shouldn't get bothered by the Police..., Right...?;)

  4. What I don't get is ...

riding a motorcycle with out helmet around these parts = ticket
driving one's car with same helmet on = ticket

Seems to be that in a car the helmet obscures vision and impairs hearing... don't ask how I know this.... ! :D

No helmet law for bikes in TExas, but if you ride a bicycle around here without one you can get a ticket.....go figure

DirtyT drove the Space Herpie over to my side of town Friday evening on open manifolds with no windows (well, a busted plexi windscreen held in with packing tape!), an unregistered 1950 license plate, holes in the floor, a chain holding the hood shut, no insurance or registration and did it in rush hour traffic!

Got here, and we drove our heaps up to a local cruise joint Friday night before it rained, then he left his car here and took my truck home. Came back yesterday morning, and we each laid under our cars out in the street tightening bolts and checking things over. He made an emergency air bag repair and we cruised all Saturday in the cars like those Mexicans in the Lowriders from the movie "Corvette Summer"...we just rolled up and down Telegraph Road all slow and loud...turnin' heads and havin' a ball!

Last night we hit the burger joint that was hosting quite a few local rides and our cars garnered lots of unexpected attention! Then, around 11pm, we motored up to the 24 hour diner for some grub...thought Dirty was yanked for sure when a local cop car fell in behind him and followed a ways!!

The cop drove around him after a quarter mile or so and never gave him a second look!

Around midnight, he drove the car back home...about 45 miles the same way!

Try THAT in Canada!!! :D  :)

Very true wtf's up with that? Even a two stroke is loud as hell with straight pipes

  8. I guess I'll chime in on this from "the man's" perspective:D . As long as someone isn't driving like an idiot I always wave and give the ol thumbs up. Now where I live there are two cities with completely different attitudes from the police perspective. I'll drive my old cars in Bloomington anytime, but rarely venture into Normal because they are very "traffic oriented." just my .02

  9. jus thank ya lucky stars youre not in limey territory... they can get busted for being fenderless, open headered/loud pipes/no hood etc... the cops dont give a rats ass whether youre drivin like a dick or jus pootling along takin granny to get her groceries...

a friend of mine was on his way back from a show, got pulled for bein fenderless, and they impounded his car... cause he had jubilee clips on his coolant hoses and they were pointin in such a way that if he ran someone over they might cut themselves on them....once they saw that, they picked faults at sooo many stupid things, that in theory are actually fine, that it warranted them draggin the car off to the pound... he got points on his license(whatever they are) a fine, and had to pay to get the car back....
