Some of you already know but for those that don't here's my new ride a bone stock '39 std, its bought & paid for and i'm coming over the pond to collect it next friday! so no turning back now.
During next weekend i'll drive it down from Santa Rosa area to stay with Dave (A32flathead) in Campbell, which gives me about four days to do some routine maintenance & get it looking a little more hopped up!
Should be all done by thursday & ready to cruise down to Paso with the bay area convoy, after that we hope to drive the wheels off it & will also be at the Antique Nats in Palmdale.....wish me luck!!

Feel free to photoshop it, i'd be interested to see what you guys would do with it.

Thanks! Its pretty much going to stay looking the same apart from a dropped front & get rid of those fuggly aftermarket headlamps, the week before Paso i'm swapping the drums over to 40 Ford with some 4"x16" up front & some '41 Lincoln 5"x16" at the rear with a good tire combo. Also fitting a new rad, hose's & pumps i really don't want any cooling trouble on the road!!
When the car is back over here it'll get a very hot flatty built over the winter & hopefully have some fun in it next year.
    Kev.

I just notice you are in Chino, we are staying Claremont from the 2nd till 4th June, was going to stay in Chino but i got a better deal at the other place!

You photochoppers simply amaze me! How about you guys getting together and doing a tech on how to do some of that stuff! Put up a pic for us to dload and then tell us a step by step of how to do it. Nothing major, just the basics....

Yes, I'd learn on my own but your head is small and would it would help your self-esteem! :)

  17. Hey Kev,
did your buddy get that 16" x 4" Ford solid I sent him for ya?

I almost painted it poo-brown for ya.

I want you guys to stop it right now! We don't need to loose any more of our cherished stash of old cars. Now if you want to move here that's OK. I'd welcome some car guys instead of the low lifes we seem to be getting.:)

Headlights are 37 Willys, unconventional, but I think they work. Mild chop, and a Z in the rear.

Do not chop that car. Lower it a little and maybe some different caps and thats it. DO NOT CUT THAT ROOF.

Holy ****......you photoshop guys amaze me, to be honest i don't think i could chop the roof on this one, the best way to go i think is to buy an old snotter & cut the **** out of it.
Thanks for all the nice comments guys but i really have to thank George (Yorgatron) for giving me the heads up
This one is a keeper for me which came about with my long time love of 40 coupes & then i saw Ryans '38! well i just came to the conclusion somewhere in the middle & a '39std it had to be............& how lucky was i to be blessed with this unmolested 66yr old car coming my way.
For now the car needs to scream hotrod......i'll put some pics up just before Paso to show how the week went.
    4-1/2 days & counting!
    Kev.

One more vote for not chopping it. Those cars are beautiful stock and chopping them does nothing to improve the lines. Slam the suspension all you want, just don't chop it.

  29. I don't think Kev ever planned on chopping it.
