Since I flat-out refuse to go/participate in any car shows and/or cruses this isn't much of a problem for me. I have my cars because I like them, not because of any outside influence or trends because it's "cool". And I'll have them for as long (and in whatever configuration) as they please me, and I can drive them. But I get the opinions of those on here that the bandwagon/uninformed people can be a pain. Same reason after thirty years on a Harley, I can't stand the sight of most that ride them now. All about image, and appearances, most don't even know what my Pan is, let alone anything else (last guy wanted to know where my gas gauge was). My Nova has had a Straight axle since 1968. It was a street car, and I kept it the same all these years because I liked it that way. Spent many a year looking for someone to make me another axle (imagine the reactions I got over the phone in the eighty's asking for one of those). I do not live in a "car area" really so most don't know what to make of it anyway....Not that it matters..

I think you should just sell your '55 if it's causing you that much grief and frustration. Someone else will build it whatever way they want and not get worked up over suggestions from others. Or just build a g***er.
I like how this thread turned into everybody with g***ers going "NO LOOK HOW AWESOME MY G***ER IS YOU MUST BE WRONG!" The man doesn't like g***ers, what do you think your going to change his opinion by showing him more g***ers?
No, but it's funny to do so. He did say 55 and G***er in the same sentence. lol BTW, I didn't post a picture of mine.
This is my non-g***er 55. I built it 15 years ago, although it took until last fall to get it looking like this. I wanted a hardtop, because they look better. The front sits low, because I'm not good at following trends. Color is stock, no body mods except shaving a few pieces of trim, because they were good looking cars when they were new. I really don't give a flying eff if you like it or don't like it. I didn't build it for you, I built it for me.
I know, that's funny too. I didn't post it, it's just there. Poor guy is complaining about everyone telling him to do a g***er, and he is flooded with g***ers in his complaint thread. Oh, the irony. lol
I agree. I build my cars the way I want them and the only one I care about pleasing is me. Period. Enjoy the build. It's more than half the fun.

who gives a flying flip what everyone else is building or calling what their building do it for you the way you want it and enjoy / if it was mine i would make it a g***er
