[IMG] Here: raise nose 2-3", wicked 327, wheel-n-tire combo straight outta the early '60's of your choice. Son's-a-beach'z that would rule.

Thanks Dr. Dave, you just can't beat Stanford's Olds art. Precisely the look I'm talking about.

Is this thread dead? Bring 'em on or I'll start a '74 Matador thread!!

I've enjoyed this car as a hot rod in several different stages and looks. Still not done yet........

Yeah, I know. Not exactly traditional under the hood. But it is the same concept Smokey was using back in the day. Was just more traditional to racing.

A few drag cars that aren't straight axled cars. I love the white Olds fastback. Kinda reminds me of the Stanford drawing.

I agree...and there were only a few or no early 50's Chevys Hot Rodded
in this area. A few race cars like Racer Brown but that's an exception.
    R.I.P. C9.Jay Carnine..read his stuff sometime.

But they were not hot rodded back then, maybe a split manifold.
It's just supply and demand now:D The car in my avatar ran 11:60's 30 yrs ago.
    That's a hot rodded 50's car.

Here's a few. Some might have too much of a gasser look for this thread?

I have wondered if my 51/52 hardtop could achieve a hotrod look similar to this with a set of realrodders (halibrand) looking wheels with lots of tire and a strong rake and lots of lowering.. I really do not want to run hubcaps on this ride.. its either getting chrome reverse (like my last few rides) or something like below I think. I am craving a hotrod more than a custom right now (thou the 60's lowrider look is always in the back of my head... little man on my left should screws hotrod, the one on the rights screams vintage lowrider..

I love this thing.... best Henry J ever built in my opinion

I dug these on another thread covering a show.. I can't remember which one but I really like the black wheels and wide whites against the bare metal. The chop could go either way as a custom or hot rod, as could the stance, but seeing it in action kicking dirt up and grass every where really makes me think "hot rod."

I was going through my stash of pictures and couldn't find many good hardcore early '50's cars as hot rods.. I ran across a couple Thunderbirds and some mid 50's but nothing older than '55 that has already been shown here.

    I'm thinking we need a revolution. :D:cool:
