Early cad engine help please

Ran into another snag on the 390 rebuild, I am so close to having it done if I concentrate I can hear it running. Got the heads back and decided to just keep the original size valves so I wouldnt have to go with adjustable rocker arms and save a little money. Got everything I need for the heads..except...the spring retainer cups, got the clips got the spring but they can't seem to get the cups. Any suggestions? Maybe I can use some from another engine, anyone ever do this? Really, really want to get this on the road this week. Please help.

I dont think anyone makes new cups for those engines... you're probably best off finding another set of ****ty heads, and use them for parts...

 

Damn...I was afraid of that. Guess I will have to start looking, but I'm still gonna have the machinist guy see if I can use some other engine cups(caps) if I find out that I can do a switcheroo I will post the info, must be someone else out there running into the same problem.
