Excellent find! I searched for years before I found mine. The one I have came from ESTA Safety Park in Cicero, NY. I got everything except the photocells as they worked with the new system. Mine is earlier (just stage, no pre-stage bulbs) & the solenoids are in the box, not on the tree like yours. Guy thought I was nuts for wanting it!

Chrondek is still in business but they do scoreboards for stadiums and such now. Had a nice conversation with a couple of the guys there reminiscing about the "good old days".

No idea what they're worth, but to sell it would be sacrilege! If I ever find one my kids will have to deal with it when I'm gone!!!!

in the mid 80's Batson Sheetmetal In Santee, CA made some of these but we didn't put any of those electrical knock outs in them.

    OK Ebb, I'll bite.
How in the heck did you know SN#65 was Bristol's ??

I've asked several times when & where the first Chrondek system was used, and no one seems to know for certain. Can you guide me to an answer?

What a great score. After looking out the windshield at one for so many years I'd like to have one in the shop office.

Ive' got a Biondo tree but it's like comparing a new Prius to an original Hemi car. YOU WIN! That thing is cool. When my son saw some old pics of my car from the late 70's at the track, he thought the tree back then looked ridiculous. Cracks me up to think what our kids missed out on. Most have never even power shifted a stick car. They think race cars always had Glides in them!

Very cool! When does it hit the cl***ifieds?

  28. This picture was from the mid 70's. The car in the photo was Jim Oddy's Blown - Injected 426 Hemi Powered Opal GT. He sold the car to this guy that totaled the car shortly after he got it.

The car use to look like this when Jim Oddy built it. (Sorry for the size and quality but it's the only shot of the car I have.)

Very Cool Find. Hard to beleive that the guy could care less about it. Does anybody else hate the new tree's with the LED blue lights insted of the yellow pre-stage and stage bulbs.....
