I was wandering through my local Pick a Part yesterday looking for a fan shroud for my '55 F100, and saw an odd looking seat in an 80's model F150. It was brown vinyl, looked like it came from a much older truck, kinda plain, but it wasn't broken down as is usual. Upon closer inspection it looked to be a vinyl cover over the stock seat upholstery. I pulled at a small tear on the driver's side, and the cover underneath looked good. Long story short, I bought it, ($40.00) brought it home, peeled off the old weathered cover to reveal the stock seat as good as new! looks like it never saw the light of day! I love it when I score something cool at the bone yard!
If you look in the cl***ified, you'll find the roof, doors and quarters from a '51 Merc coupe that I got - in a you-pick yard a couple weeks ago. The same yard had a fairly decent '52 Chevy tudor who's fenders and right front body mount are going onto my '50. It was a western car that came east at some point and wasn't nearly as rotty as so many local cars are - the fenders were damn near perfect, and someone else had already unbolted them for me to boot.
Yup, The other day when I was at Pick a Part, there were 2 Edsels, a '55 Lincoln, a '57 F100, a '55 4 door Chevy. It was like the good ol' days! Just wish I had a wad of cash and the time to harvest some goodies!! I'll be checking back there soon to be sure!
Jeeze, you should be able to make a ****load of money piecing those out, especially if they'll let you go at them with a sawzall.
Wish I would of had the hundred bucks they wanted for this at the time. A month later they had cleared out a field of this kind of vintage tin to make room for late models...
Another hundred dollar car. and this Skylark was a rag top. sorry I don't have a picture of it for you. It would just make you cry anyway...
