have seen several discussions here where builders were using Brookville bodies but fitted Rootlieb hoods. Why not use the Brookville hood or is there that much difference in the quality and fit?

I only use original 32 Ford hoods myself ... but Rootlieb has been making hoods a LOT longer than Brookville has been making 32 roadsters. Rootlieb makes a great 32 hood.

I'm have a Brookville / Rootlieb combo and they fit pretty good together. I did have to grind the hood some where the cowl transitions from the top to the sides.

It's all aftermarket so you can't expect everything to be perfect.

Nothing fits like an original! I've done 15 or so Brookville roadster pkg cars over the past years and used Rootlieb hoods. They just need a little adjusting and some times grinding and welding to get them right. Using the right hood welt can make a difference as well as the shell???
