Big Willie is back in the hospital having foot surgery. He has had a problem with his foot since being back from the Midwest. Good luck to Big Willie. An amazing guy, and a non-stop interview subject. I talked to him back in about '96, for the Press-Telegram and he talked for an hour straight about his T.I. drag strip. Hope he's okay.
No. He dropped a weight on his foot. Big Willie was a pro body builder back in the day and still weight trains. That is how he met Arnold Schwarzenegger

No need to worry about him, he is a United States Army Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets plus he has God on his side. He said thanks for all the kind words on the internet also. He sounded in good spirits.
Good to hear!! I met Big Willie years ago when he ran Brotherhood Raceway on Terminal Island in 1994. Super nice guy!! In fact, it was at Brotherhood Raceway that I made my first p*** down a drag strip as a driver!!

Stay healthy, Big Willie. I've had the poster of Big Willie, Tomika, and the rest of the Street Racers hanging on my garage wall for like 35 yrs. "Big Willie and the Street Racers of Los Angeles say Buy American". I'm afraid to take it down or even touch it for that matter 'cause it might disintegrate in my hands.
