Is it a street motor...if so this cam isn't designed for it...most of the guys running this are full drag motors or lsr cars....and they have $20,000 plus in their engines...last guy who i knew that ran one built a 325ci engine filled block etc etc and he was well over $30,000 mark...what are your actual plans for an engine...if you want a street motor build a nice little stroker...I have a 304 stroker with a .396 lift cam at 270 duration which most guys well tell you to stay away from the 304 as well...cost is a big factor my 304 stroker cost $17000 to build....if you want a street usable flatty go with a 270-290ci engine and a nice mild cam talk to Pete1 on here he can grind the exact cam for your engine and give all the part numbers for the build he helped me out a lot

I don't think you would be happy using it for street. If for comp. use more cubes. JMO

im running a Potvin 425 in a 304ci motor, for racing only. the lobe ramps are real steep so the valves open and close fast...at high rpm its a great cam and pulls hard up to 6000 rpm. its really a compe***ion only cam.

you can run it on the street but your valve train will probably be short lived... a Potvin 3/8ths would be better... its a *****in cam. HAMB member Pete1 is an old cam grinder and can give you real world experiences.

if you are dead set on a 425, go with a larger displacement... 296-300+ ci.

video of initial run in with a 425, 100% methanol.

The Potvin Eliminator is a bit much for the street. A Harmon Collins 408 #6372 worked nicely in my 286 ci flatty, but that was with pretty extensive port, valve and combustion chamber work. A little weak on the bottom but 2200 - 5500 was an *** kicker. The sound at idle would usually draw attention, loped enough to rock that big ol' Merc side to side just a little but not too radical. Sure would like to find another.
