  4. The month/day/year will be stamped on the lower left side of the gas tank, just above where it bolts to the lower firewall. The only time it isn't is if the car got a replacement tank at some point in it's history. It may take some work with a wire brush to find it, but it's there. Also, if the rear fenders are drilled for tail light mounts, it's a good bet they are 29's.

update...i havent done a whole lot, been busy with work and still collecting parts. I am building the coupe, my buddy Mark is building the sedan. As for the coupe, the body is off, started cleaning it up, passengers door patch is in as well as the cowl. Plan is to use a buick nailhead.

i plan to chop it 4 inches...gotta find those impossible to find roof sections first though. I will probably just end up making them but it will take some time.

Also, from the couple I've had and seen, a lot of the 29 commercial tanks don't have the stamp. They have the 30-31 type gas cap but are otherwise a normal 28-9 tank

  10. The '28 and most of the '29's had a date stamped into the gas tank on the driver's side under the hood.

28-9 the date is stamped on the left corner of the fuel tank, front top section and doors will fit coupe, 28-9 pu doors are actually 26-7 model T coupe and sedan doors and will not 28-9 coupe or sedan, another way is to tell by looking at the front left cowel panel inside it will have a slot on the floor brace for the e-brake handel early 29's had a plate screwed on this slot late 29's were smooth, 28 early 29 had 3 holes on the left lower hardbar with 3 holes for t-lite bracket, smooth on later ones, AR cowel panels were cut flush with firewall later28-9 had provisions for hood welt, these are easy ways to tell. Did you kiss the guy you stole these from? :) LOL
