Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Houston Rodder, Sep 3, 2011.

  1. Is it just me or is the Rodder's Journal #52 late?

  3. Do a search and you will see its common!

  4. Did several searches, not common. Thus the question.

I think what the OP is referring to is not the SHIPMENT of the new TRJ, but the ANNOUNCEMENT. The normal lateness posts have to do with the long time lag between the 'TRJ is shipping' emails and the actual receipt.

And in that context, I agree with the OP. I was wondering the same thing myself.

But you have inside connections:D:D Us regular people have to wait for the mail person to show up with it or make the treck (now 70 miles) to the closest store that has it.

Exactly why I no longer subscribe! I have never and will never miss an issue, but I just can't handle having a subscription to something that never shows up on time. Besides, if I buy at So-Cal PHX, my buddy Frank makes a buck or so too.

  12. This little rant makes me laugh every 3 months. There must be some kind of "TRJ Fantasy Subscription League" where suscribers answer trivia questions & crack secret codes hidden within. First one done, wins.

As for me, I'm in no competition to see who can get his fastest and I have plenty to keep me busy until it shows up. As long as #52 shows up I don't care when it arrives.

Admittedly, I do wish this was the only thing I had to worry and bitch about though. Some of you guys must really have it made.

    Yeah, it's late.

But at least it shows up, unlike a certain other magazine we all used to complain about.

I loose track of time between issues, but I always know, and get excited when I start to see theses threads. I then know another issue is coming...

  15. I lose track of time between issues too. Then magically my next issue will appear and brighten my day! Kinda fun not knowing when its coming

  16. TRJ is printed in Hong Kong I think. Overseas subscribers apparently get their copies mailed direct while the US subscribers have to wait for the bulk shipment to arrive and be distributed. So, you know it is about a week out when the Ausies and Kiwis start blowing their horns.

The only issue that was published on time was the first one , and that's questionable . This seems to be there standard MO.

Just like any decent build issues will roll when they are ready to roll, not until. Try to push the project and the build quality goes to hell fast. As long as the quality is there I can wait.

I have 51 issues as a of today and #52 will show when it shows!
I have never been disappointed with an issue, and that is not true for the other periodicals that I subscribe to!
Quality takes time, and TRJ is timeless.

  25. I subscribe, but hell I go buy the other alternate cover off the new stands.. I always like having both.
