Our son Dustin, (Vondust on here), and another Road Rocket club brother left for Lead East this past Wednesday afternoon. Dustin drove his old high school sweetheart 55 Desoto and Rick Marvin, the other guy in our club drove his 52 Ford "Maybelline". I spoke with Dustin earlier today and he said there were about 1,800 cars there. Dustin just called AGAIN absolutely elated that the 'ol Desoto got picked for one of the Fine Nine Awards this year. I guess this is the very first time a Fine Nine Award has gone to an unfinished car. I guess those long nights last week of Dustin taking his first try at upholstery paid off. Makes the old man and mom pretty proud. We can sure use some good news like this about now!! I have to thank my best friend and Dustin's second dad, Tom Culbertson for helping to guide Dustin down the custom car path. Tom, you have been an real inspiriation to Dustin. Thanks for being there man.
well that car is an outstanding kustom in the works!!! tom culbertson is a first class guy!!! congrats!!
Been watching that car forever (it seems like anyway)! Wow! Congrats to Dustin, that car will go down in history as one of the best by the time it is done. And redone, and redone. I know he will not be able to leave it alone!
