I guess I'm the eternal skeptic. Today I got to talking with a guy in a '50 Tudor Sedan. Basically a stock shoebox with original flathead, etc. Here's my question. The car had a rear window wiper! He said that he had researched it and claimed it was a dealer installed option (something like $16). Now I've seen hundreds of '49-'51 Fords in my 60 yrs. and I've never seen one before with an auxiliary rear window wiper. I didn't call the guy out on it 'cause frankly I don't know for sure if it was or wasn't available. Help me out guys. Was this in fact an option?........Thanks, Don.
yes, it was an option. i've seen another one before, was a crestliner with the vinyl top, had a rear wiper and it was stock.
I saw a Merc with a rear wiper at the Macungie show the other week . Pretty interesting . I'd imagine it was an across-the-board option ? **EDIT - here's the car ...
Thanks for those photos, guys. I'm becoming less skeptical going forward.. Looks like there was a nice turnout for Macungie, Buddy......Don.
