I have a hole in the left side of the gas tank, not a huge hole but still a hole. Is it less expensive to fix it or should I just get a new one. Any thoughts?

it depends on why that hole is there, is it because of corrosion?
if so,..it never stops, and you end up chasing holes

if you can get a hole free tank with out it costing you too much I would opt for that route , at least eventually
they can be fixed if its not too bad

I've welded, brazed or soldered patches on several gas tanks.

The hole is in the rear corner, it happened while being shipped, but it seems that fixing it would be a better option than bying a new one.

If it's a puncture in good metal, fix it. If it's a dent that caused a leak in rusty metal, replace it.

Clean the metal around the hole until shiny and then apply3 layers of fibergl*** patch. Or maybe you can solder it using a Canadian penny. They are stiill made of copper.
