First I want to give a big thanks to 2xcrash for using his truck to pick up the car, and my buddy Rich for lending us the trailer...Thanks bro's! :)

I was able to go up and pickup the coupe today, it was damn hot but worth it. The car was loaded to the hilt. Our first endevor was loading the Hemi...what a beast of a motor. It still had the torqueflite attached to it, making it worste to maneuver. It ended up in the bed of the truck, and the rest of the parts, in the car.

After getting the car home, I unloaded all of the parts the guy gave me. I wasnt sure of what I was getting, but Im extremely suprised and happy. :)

Some of the parts were: a couple of bellhousings for standard tranny's, extra grill, extra bumpers & bumper ends. Extra motor parts, distributors. The car is relatively complete except the front seat and one front glass mount and trim.

Enough said, here are some pictures of the stuff, and car. Enjoy:)

Those cars have great lines. Probably my favorite 40's car without mods. A slight chop would make that trunk look a mile long.

    have fun.

Yeah, inquiring minds want to know if a decision has been made on the early elephant motor?

My first rod (still got it) was a '40 Dodge convertible. I used a 360 with a '79 Cordoba rearend. The Rearend almost bolts in. I didn't even change the front clip, she's all stock suspension wise and rides like a dream. The turning radius is about a 1/4 mile, but that's my only complaint. Good luck with it. I know your gonna have fun with it.

BTW Check out Tom Branchs intro, he has a sweet old Mopar coupe.

The story behind this is, I was moving the ramp to the trailer...and...well I lost my balance and fell w/ the ramp in my hands which got loose on 2xcrash's foot...which he was wearing converse chucks.

Tell about feeling like a dumb ass...doh!...Man...im sorry...

I thought he was going to leave my ass there....with the car.

I knew that hurt because if felt it too.

    I think I recovered w/ the trip to In-n-Out :)

I am soo excited about this thing...the lines are bitchen...the car looks fricken cool  .

This car has a 58 Dodge convertable frame under it...I need to find out the wheel base of the car originally, to see if im in the ballpark. Dude I got it from said it may be off...slightly. May need to do some modifications.

As for the motor...im still undecided. I got a 2 other bellhousings w/ this thing for different standard trannys. IM going to get the car ready up until its ready for the motor. The Patina is going to stay, the bodywork will be last.

Im debating on a small chop...Ill have to do some photochopping to get a better idea....

One day at a time :)

The car has no rust. :) The body panels are surprisingly straight w/ a few dings and bondo "swipes" on them. The only issue with the car is the front floor section. Some other cars floor section was welded in place...poorly. Ill have to fix it...but no problem there.

Currently it has a firewall brake setup...(ghetto setup, used and needs replaced). Im debating on what to go w/ as for brakes. Anyone have any suggestions; aftermarket types? I like the floor mount pedals. The chassis is a 58 dodge vert frame and suspension. I would like to run the stock front and rear suspension.

Hats off to you once again. I can't wait to come up there in the 105 degree weather this summer to drive that down Yucuipa Blvd. KNUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Congrats!!! I have a 40 and it's a real fun ride. Not a whole lot around so usually take a second look at it. Have fun and keep us up to date on the progress you make.
