Hello all. Did a search for juice brake conversion and came up with 53-54 Chevy brakes for the front. Just a clarification, is that from the 1/2 ton truck or the car of those years? Thanks for the help, gonna start gatherin parts for hot rod conversion for winter project. Also, are they pretty much a bolt-on to my original spindles? Any help would be appreciated...
speedway has kits. I just swaped out my 29 front axle for a 50's axle to use the kits. the axle bolted right up.
I believe that it is car brakes...at least that is what I picked up for mine. I have not measure the kingpins yet to determine if I need a car or truck axle to make it work....
ECI has kits--even 6 lug kits--that are made for the early Chevrolet. I've had no problems with my kit; there are a few others on this board who have used there kit as well. The Filling Station also has conversion kits as well as a ton of other early Chevy parts. http://ecihotrodbrakes.com/early_chevy_discbrake_conversions.html http://www.fillingstation.com/
