Event Coverage El Mirage Sept. 11 Anyone going? or did Speed Week wear you out?

I reckon I'll be there. Might have to drive the late model for the gas milage as Bonneville and other issues have taken a toll on my finances lately.

 

Tim, you make the Y look good on dirt, I'll do my best to do the same in the 130 class on the salt. We will compare notes later.

Just happened that last Thursday I was 8 miles from El Mirage. I stopped and got some lunch first and drove over to El Mirage and just sat there with the windows down listening to the Desert breeze blowing. I closed my eyes and could just hear the years of racers out there trying to get that last MPH out of there cars. It's a feeling that I wish everyone could enjoy, the smell of the Desert the awsome amount of knowledge to make whatever you brought out to go as fast as it can, everyone needs to experience this at least once in their life.

Let's keep an eye on the SCTA website and keep on top of the weather and any possible trouble with rain.
It's been weird around here...humid (for us) and two nights ago we even got some lightening.
The weather reports state that there may be some showers in the EM area on wednesday......so....lets hope it doesn't do what it did in July and cancel.
Anyone with up-to-date info...please post here....
I haven't been since May and couldn't go to Bonerville this year so I'm itching to get to EM sunday....

The weather report looks good for Sat and Sun. I dont trust weather reports but this one I will cause we want to race! Did some testing over the weekend and she's running strong!

It's been well over 110 here in Phoenix nearly every day for the last two months (couple of days up to 117). It'll be just like home!

First thing I did was put all the race equiptment in my sons garage, THEN worried about the rest of the stuff like furniture and lifes necessities.

 

If anyone needs a place to hang out find the HAMB banner and make yourselves at home "Mi casa es los HAMB'rs casa" People always tell me they came by but no one was there. We were probly staged for our run. Just hang out and we'll be back. I CANT WAIT!!!!

I just got back from, Master Stans. I'm familiar with all the belts and Hans device, but the fuel shut off valve is leaking again. Hopefully(an I don't like that word 'hope') it gets right before, before Saturday! Signed, Stan Beck
