Anybody seen a C.A.W. valve cover for a Chevy 216?

I've been told they were made in Denver back in the 40's for trucks to quiet the lifter noise. Can't find any info on them more than that. I need something different to top off the straight six.

 

they seem real heavy duty and very well made.

in fact a guy here in wellington has two of them.

 

I've had one for years, and was told that the owner of a small trucking firm had them cast for his trucks, though I can't verify it.

 

I have one that was purchased (used) from RB's about twenty years ago.

 

Got 2 of them ... one came from Cheaper Charlie's in Longmont, the other was in the trunk of a Wyoming '52 Chev club coupe parts car. Both were found late '70s ...

Terry O, I've seen your "wanted" add on Craigslist lately and I agree, that valve cover is killer!!! I have an early 235(same two-stud valve cover pattern as your 216)... if you get a line on those things lemme know! Also, hit me with a PM, I MIGHT, now a guy with an Edmunds 2x2bbl intake you might be interested in. He offered it to me awhile back, but I said "nah", but I think he still has it, newstranger

I have 2 that have been polished if any interest.

 

I have one on my 50. Never got any additional information than what was mentioned above.

 

I located one of these in a shed. Any idea how much they are worth? Guy wants some money for it, but if it's worth it, I'll pick it up.
