So as I am finding the 26 RPU, he has this milk truck. It has been sitting here for 30 years. The old guy tells me he got it from some hippies at the Cal- mex border. Seems the border guys did not like them and would not let them into Mexico with it. It does have a peace sign on the hood and also F*** the pigs on top. He drove it for years in his antiqing biz but befor that he rattle caned it and switched it to sit down style. It is packed full of stuff. I just thought some one would like to see it!
Obviously somebody needs to fab up a frame to install a nice Allison V12 in the back with a transaxle and 6x6 pipes sticking out with minimal muffling. Get the bodywork sorted out, pick a decent color scheme, couple of bomber seats, an aircraft-themed instrument panel, some clever graphics on those billboard sides and barn doors, and hit the road.
Very interesting body with a lot of nice details. This had to be a high end commercial builder. Not a cheap east coast van body. Does it have a builders plate for the body manufacturer? And a 1 ton chassis. Great truck. I'm glad it's far enough away from me that I couldn't buy it.
that's really cool. if I were shitting money I'd have to buy that and do a full on restoration back to original.
