    What a great survivor,

You'll be driving the wheels of it in no time short.
(well maybe with a change of rubber)

    Great Score!

I wouldn't really call it a loss if he decided that the truck wasn't what he was looking for that sounds like he passed on the truck because it wasn't what he wanted. More power to mike and Ryan for picking it up.

Henry Ford didn't trust Hydraulic brakes, it took years of convincing from his engineers to finally use them, by hat time, he was behind the curve. Of course Dodge has always been behind the curve too.

Enjoy it, but make it safe. You can use it for the rest of your life pretty much the way it is.

That ride is truly amazing. Don't touch it it's like a damn time machine. Put some air In the tires and freshen up the motor and call it done

If you don't at least change the tires, It's gonna be a little tough driving it around.....

Cool truck! Post up some more pics when you get new rubber on her. Are you going to stay with blackwalls or go with wide whites?

What is the purpose of the chain through the spokes on the spare tire?

Wow! That's a beautiful '36. Incredible to find a truck in that condition, folks used to actually use trucks to do work, and they usually show it. I know mine does! The grille is beautiful, the '36-'37 Dodge truck grilles are incredible, but that cast center section is nearly always broken in some way.

Awesome to see the wheel option on the truck too, I've wondered for awhile what those wheels would look like on my '37, guess I have the answer.

Thanks for posting the truck Mike, a real inspiration. Mine's a little rougher...

I wonder if these ads had any influence on Grandpa's decision to buy a new 1936 Dodge truck. A big truck not a pickup. My best friends parents had a 36 Ford truck with a V8 that his Grandpa had bought new and we had the 6 cylinder Dodge that seemed a little inferior to me at the time. I asked Dad why they bought the Dodge instead of a Ford and he told me that the Dodge would pull all day without getting hot, that's why they bought the Dodge. I guess Grandpa's 32 Ford had heating issues.

That is a really nice 36 pickup. Some guys have all the luck.:)

Nice Truck! Looks good as is. I've had mine since '75 and I can tell you, when you take it to runs and shows, you'll probably have the only one. And that always feels good. I don't think I've seen ten in all these years I've had mine. Enjoy the sturdiness of a Dodge, and so easy to keep going. But after 30 years in the slow lane, I had to hot rod mine!:)

Only thing I would change is the passenger fender, just to clean up the lines, I believe that car fenders fit the same year, had a coupe once.

  24. Mike, That is a nice truck. I can see that pushing the race car at B-ville. I'm sure you already thought of that though. Good score pal .Leave it to a Peckerhead.

Better get rid of that quick! Obviously it has flat problems. Just think of all the $ you'll be spending on fixing flats. Really cool find. Congrats.
