welcome to the hamb from reno, nv!

btw, i dont recomend you use the term 'rat rod'
there is alot of drama and sometimes entertaining arguments that get started when the term rat rod is used.

Thank you for the welcome. Not to get a heated discussion going, but why would the term rat rod get people upset? From growing up in the in the 30's and hearing stories that my dad would tell me of the cars that he put together and seeing first hand the ingenuity of people putting together cars piece by piece is the origin and spirit of automobiles today and yesterday.

well, people take it as a "derogitory" term.
I used it a few times when i was just getting into the hobby and just getting started on the hamb and i was quickly told off. Just watchin out for ya.

I took it as no offense by you. I was just wondering, and I wanted others to see what I said, and take that into account before posting. Because I didn't want to start any arguments. I live be the term "to each their own" Everyone is en***led to their own opinion. In no way am I pointing this to you 53vicky, but people can respond to me, but I don't want anyone to get all bent out of shape when they see my name. I mean to cause no provocation. If anyone reads this post, I put in ratrod because that is what I grew up with, that is familiar to me. And 42 is when I got married and when I went to the war. I also appreciate you concern Vicky.

I am new to posting on forums and blogging, is that what you call it, but at any rate. I am hope someone can answer this question for me. I have read the terms and conditions of this site. And the main reason I joined was to get a post out there about trouble I am having with a well know manufacturer. In no way did I use any slander in my post, I was just stating the facts of my experience and my post was instantly deleted. Then 10 minutes later I get a private message saying to go to this certain manufacturers page on HAMB and contact them. I just wanted to start a dialog and get everyone's two cents on the matter. Not one person and them telling me something that I have already tried and it failed. So sorry for the length of this post but I am just starting to lose faith and hope of my car getting repaired this season.

Welcome to the HAMB. I'm the guy who sent you the p.m. I was trying to avoid any drama as you have obviously already gotten. They seem to hate the term "Ratrod" on here, and I saw on your post about your problem with EMS, that some of the guys were already given you ****, over your 1st post being a gripe, not an intro. I have no reason why they deleated your thread, but I suspect it is not introducing yourself 1st as the rules state. It may be other reasons also. You can keep the screen name you are using as others have ratrod in their screen names also, but it would be a whole lot better if you used the term hot rod, than rat rod. Gow job might even be acceptable. I contacted EMS customer service, and told him about your problem. It appears that he has since checked out your stats and tried to find your thread. he sent me a p.m. back, and said he would love to find the thread but it was closed. He gave me his phone number and said if you would call him he would try to help. Here it is. (216) 541-4585. 9-5 EST. He lives in Ohio also. His name is Alex. Just trying to help. Good luck. Welcome from the cultural center of the universe, Oklahoma.

I can only suggest that you read the rules on cl***ifieds and posting. Having said that, you are still going to encounter people who just want to start it up with you......just like real life.
