mopar 4 speed interchange question

    anybody have a hollander handy?
    here's what i got;
    68 charger 4 speed
    71 challenger that was a 340 car, now getting a 440.
    mounts are taken care of but i want to know if theres a difference in the tailshaft as far as shifter location.
    not being a mopar guy, it's new teritory....

    any help?

    I am pretty sure you are going to need a different tailhousing. 66-69 B body had one mount close to the main case, while the later 70 & up units had dual mount pads for B and E body use. Because your trans is older, it won't have the second shift pad you'll need for an E body.

    This is the Skinny. As Buickinabucket stated: You need a '70 and up tailhousing. For the E Body (Challenger) you use the rear shifter mount that is non existent on the '68 Charger tailhousing. Any further questions...
