I was out working on the 28 chevy this morning and a friend shows up with ethel as he calls her, his 36 ford truck. Now this truck was built in the early 80s and gathered numerous awards in its hayday, and was put away in 1995 not to be seen until today. And I am glad he got her out. The 36 has a 289 engine, c4 trans, 8 inch rear. The engine is tired and leaky and he is gonna look for another to update her, but it still runs smooth.
    Have a look...John

She's beautiful. Why not just rebuild the engine that's already there?

That is a great example of an early pickup built RIGHT in the 70s-80s and enjoyed.

  7. I second the recommendation to rebuild the 289 then drive that bad-girl!:)

  8. I've never mentioned it, but I have almost the exact truck (in maroon) stored at my Mom's house. Pop's traded a Harley for it years ago and I bought it off Mom after he p***ed. Wire wheels and all. Damn 80's! Ha!

Neat truck! Some steel wheels and wide whites would really do it justice.

    Thanks for the pics!

Very nice! Not a fan of the fancy schmancy wood treatment in the bed, and wood door panels....but it ain't mine.

    It is a nice driver

Gonna stay all ford no matter what his decision on the engine.

    not a problem

I wont have to kick him.it will stay all ford.

Keep in mind it was the 80s. and the builds were a little different then.

Dave bought a 351 cleveland and a ford aod trans for $150.00 It looks to be a good condition engine and ought to wake this little Hussy up. As for a chevy engine he said bring it along side him and see what happens.
