I know this is probably a long shot and it is only to satisfy my curiosity, but does anybody know where this photo was taken? I have seen other threads where people identified plants where they had worked. Thanks.

Dearborn, MI? I think it was the only Merc plant at the time.

  3. I see Fords on the line in the background... maybe the Rouge?

There was a plant in Edison NJ opened in late 1947 my late Dad started to work there before it opened. I used to have a picture of him helping put the body on the first one off the line, a 4 door if I remember correctly.

In those days the NJ plant was in Raritan (now Edison) but had a Metuchen mailing address as they had no postoffice.

The Metuchen Plant was later renamed Edison

If nobody can I.D. the location, email Ford Images. Maybe they'll have some additional info on the photo.

Not sure what plant that photo was taken at but I did find this info on Mercury production per plant:

    Dearborn (DA) 79027
Long Beach (called Los Angeles) (LA)44958
    Wayne (WA) 19422
    Metuchen (ME) 97749
    St Louis (SL) 110459

Are these numbers for 1950 mercs only? Where is this info from? These numbers would make 1950 mercury production higher than I've even seen.

  20. I emailed them Friday with no response. I have a ford.com email address, so hopefully they know it's not spam. ;)

If I hear anything, I'll let y'all know.
