My friends are going to the Toledo area to p/u a 47 Crosley p/u. Looking for a good local type bar w/ good food for Sat night. Thanks Lucky
Your options are going to be near where the Toledo Mudhens play downtown. Like much of the rust belt Toledo is another city decimated by a fleeting manufacturing economy. I work down there on occasion. Nothing real " happening" yo might want to just make your way back to Jersey. You couls also try a Tony Pako hot dog
Nick and Jimmys and Chucks both have good food and are a good place to get a beer. They both are on Monroe St. (Nick and Jimmys would be my first choice) If you plan on staying the night in Toledo, the GM powertrain car show is tomorrow and is a huge free car show that would be worth checking out. The above posts are quite comical as well. Haters! You guys are making Toledo sound like Detroit! Feel free to get with me if you have any questions.
Nah Pugh I love Toledo like I love Detroit ---- From the Suburbs ha-ha. Not really trying to piss on Toledo. I think there is some great architecture downtown, and what look like really cool old Restauraunts.
I have fond memories of Toledo. Back in the late 60's I ran the House of Flake. Painter almost 100 cars in Metal Flake. Received a Mechanical Engineering Degree form the University. Learned foundry practice, and pattern making working in foundry's in the North End. All my old friends have moved or gone on the the next dimension. 1Lucky1 get your **** and head back to Jersey. Without a police scanner you cant tell the good guy's from the bad.
It's like any Ohio city nowadays. Everyone is living outside the limits. There are some cool things around. I do refer to it as little Detroit though.
Not personal, just I have lived in toledo my whole life and dont think its nearly as bad as it' s being made out to be. Yes there are a few areas where I wouldnt hang out, but then again when I was in the V.I at St.Thomas there were a few places I wouldnt go.
+2 on Tony Packo's but I only mean the Original Tony Packo's at 1902 Front Street near the river...It's been there since the 30's...there are several of the newer Tony Packo's chain stores around Toledo, but if you want the original...they usually have live music from time to time as well...If you want upscale, the Bluewater Grille is a very good restaurant...If you're bringing any kiddies with you, the Toledo Zoo is an excellent small zoo. Have a great trip and remember the Ohio 'Man' only takes credit cards...so watch your speed. http://tonypacko.com/locations.php http://www.wanderingeducators.com/f.../foodie-finds-best-place-eat-toledo-ohio.html http://www.urbans****.com/lb/305/best-restaurants-Toledo

I dont live in Toledo, but my girlfriend does. For the past 10 years my sons and I have traveled there from Kent, and I think Toledo is agood place. My oldest son has decided to call Maumee home with his wife. We have been to many car shows, including the Toledo Speedway cl***ic. Gm Powertrain, make a wish, wendys in perrysburg along with parkway plaza, point place, and love looking out for High Roller (swanton Area) My drag race engine was built by Rick Schorling. My first stop is always B*** Pro Shop. I have made many freinds in Toledo, and perhaps may make it my home one day. Every year the kick off is Run to the Rapids for me. Its not in Toledo, but the car shows in the Toledo area are great. I have been written up many times at work because I didnt want to miss a show or cruise in, and decided to miss work. I like the Toledo area. I like the Zoo, I like the concerts in the Zoo on sunday nights. I like the antique shops. I like cruisin intl parkway at christmas, and louie Armstrong playin wonderfull world during the simulcast 4rth of July fireworks show. Alotta people say Toledo is a great place to be from, but I think it would be a great place to live. I will stop cuz there is so much more good not yet written. Dont forget the Jamie Farr cl***ic (Klinger)
