I drove it out of the garage today. It was to hard to get a good look at it and the color the sun was out so took some pictures. Darrell
At first, I wasn't too sure about the size of the checks; then I saw how it was done to be waving. That I like. With that kind of time wrapped up in it I'd be showing it off without the hood. Be proud man! Now you just have to chop it a couple inches ;-) Nice work. Keep posting as you go. Everyone here loves progress pix. Vance
youve done yourself proud man , the car looks bitchin , i was thinking about doing my own ride in a similar color and yours looks sweet , keep up the progress pics..
Very nicely done, also love the color, nice to see something other than black. Thanks for posting the pictures of the car finished.
Eightydeuce I was thinking of a very dark blue and this color. Than I was looking at a magizine don't remember what one but they had a over head pic of some rod run. I counted the car colors and it was something like this 38 black cars, 32 red, 18 yellow, 8 green, 6 white, 3 dark blue and not one lite blue. So I pick a color some people are going to love and the rest will hate but I had the guts to try something different instead of following the rest. Darrell
Hey Vance I just noticed that you want me to cut the roof sorry but I couldn't do that this car was to nice for that. Also with the stock seat it would get a little crowded in the head area. Also I think its to much flag with no hood looks better with just the top. Darrell
This is how it looked for the last two summers I drove it everywhere like this. Some poeple asked why I didn't finish it others told me I would be crazy to paint it. Well I'm crazy alright. Darrell
Darrell, it's your car. Do what you want to it and be proud of it NO MATTER what others say. I just always thought that the 33-34s were among the best looking cars that ever came out of a Ford plant. The only thing that I think would make them look better would to lower the roof an inch or two. But that's just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, your's looks sweeeeet. And the hood is also a matter of opinion. Me, I'm a sucker for a good checker on the firewall: and if you got, flaunt it. Keep up the great work and KEEP POSTING PHOTOS!!! Vance
Been working a little bit when I get the chance need to go bust my butt and get this thing done still needs the bumpers on and finish the inside dash and headliner are nexted or maybe next winter for the cloth stuff its getting warm and time to drive it. Darrell
Just adding a picture with the bumpers on and a bunch of things you can't see. I drove all over the place this summer I was going to go to Ididit show in Tecumseh Michigan But I got this stupid cold and not sure I will see how I feel in the morning. Darrell
Darrell - your coupe turned out great! very nice ride! Have fun with it, there is nothing better than cruising in a 33-34 Ford coupe. Steve
That is one fine looking hot rod. You did yourself proud. BTW, I AM jealous, '33/'34 Fords are a favorite of mine. You'll have a smile on your face for years to come. Frank
Here are some pictures I just got the garnish mouldings back from chrome shop I had to save for them. This is an old thread but trying to show the progress from the early stages. Darrell
The blue & white interior was in the car when my Dad bought it. I think it was done in the early 60's. I took it out around 1977 and it sat in boxes until I put in back in last year. The garnish were chromed back then but they were peeling and rusty so I had to redo or just strip them to paint.I chose to chrome. It took $850 Canadian plus tax to do them and they are ok but not perfect but I am happy with them. Darrell
