"Street rod" guys ARE good for somethin'.......they give away GOOD parts! Just got this pile back to the shop about an hour ago--48 Caddy Sedanette---nothing much to get excited about until I peeked under the hood... hmmm...49(?) engine with a 4bbl....then I looked inside ah-HA! 3 pedals! Engine's probably junk, but the same guy GAVE me the RUNNING 331/hydro out of his 'street rod' project, a 49 Sedanette(replaced it with a 502/700R4) last winter Drivetrain secured---now I need a body and ch***is. I guess this was worth the rollback/towing bill.......
save any thing you can off it . when i sold my 50 caddy all the **** i shaved off it sold for over a grand on ebay. some guy paid 300 for the caddy crest and v from the hood and trunk and they where not too nice. some one in finland paid 150 for the jack and lug wrench.
Man, how she talks now that she's got her car away from him. And in such a short time too. Ha, she probably contributed to his "collection" too. Now, how did that saying go... with friends like that... Nice score Mike. Gene
Sorry I don't think I can see a 48 Caddy sedanette and not get excited. With three pedals I'd have a hard time controlling my bodily functions!
Where the hell you find all this goodness, i´m just wondering. Maybe i had to move my adress near to your hometown.
What am I looking at? Is that an automatic swap out, or a heavy-duty Caddy stick. Or is it a clutch-hydro?
Earl, are the long chrome moldings on the rear fenders in decent shape? If so, I'm in desperate need of at least one!!! Let me know. John...
