I hope this thread can stay NON-POLITICAL , So please leave those thoughts and comments at the door.

My Hot Rod friend Steve picked me up for breakfast 10 years ago today,.. we were going to be working on his first Hot Rod project, a 23 T,... We were talking about it in Mac's Dinner. When the cook turned up the radio. And we were told what happened. And our lives as a Nation changed forever. A truly defining moment.

In that time many things changed in our country, A lot of people have a lot of views. I can respect that. But just for today,... and just for this thread. I would like us to pay honor to those lost 10 years ago, on this day.

God Bless the family's,friends and the memories of those souls lost on this day 10 years ago,.... Lest we forget.

    We shall never forget.
    We shall keep this day,
We shall keep the events and the tears.
In our minds, our memory and our hearts.
and take them with us as we carry on.

I was working out in the Gym that morning and at a glance I saw the images on a TV screen. I remember thinking to myself Bruce Willis must be doing another Die Hard movie and he went all out on effects.

I think my mind had a hard time getting over the fact that those images could be real and all those lives could really be lost. If I never see footage again I'll never forget those images from 9/11. I've never looked at a Firefighter the same since.

I will never forget. And this is how I remember that day. I had build a small diorama in 1/25.

  15. I will never forget my mates of the Australian Army who gave up their lives ensuring that they responsible for this tragedy pay dearly for this.
I remember getting to a TV, we were out doing night parachute jumps when the attacks happened. There was about 30 of us Airborne soldiers standing around watching, there was a look in everyones eyes that I have never seen again. I hope I never see again either.

Being told you are going to war is not fun.

As people were scrambling to get out of the Towers, firefighters, paramedics, & police were scrambling to get in.

Thank you to the first responders who sacraficed themselves while doing what they did best, & thank you to those first responders who lived thru the chaos & saved lives.

This day sticks in my mind like the day John Kennedy was shot, the day we landed on the moon, the day we lost the Challenger; days when time stood still. My prayers to the families of all we lost, and my thanks to the SEALs.

I was at work at a small engine shop but was just completing my 240 hour firefighter training. I had already been a Volunteer for nearly a decade but I was stepping up my training. I will never forget that day.

I was off work over here in England that Tuesday afternoon (our time) and vividly remember the whole thing unfolding in front of my eyes on our news channels. It's as unbelievable now as it was back then.
They have been in my thoughts all day today.

Here's how I remember that morning........Driving to work listening to LA morning DJ's Mark & Brian, but something was wrong in there tone. My car was load and I could bairly hear what was said so I turned up the radio. Damn, they were doing basicly play by play of what was seen on televised TV. Got to the Donut shop and still remember all the guys (working types like you and me), well better not say what was said, need to stay in thread ruling. But I really thought this was the beginning of WWIII.

Two things I heard over and over that day (and the following days):

    We will never forget

    The terrorists will not win

    We haven't, and they haven't
