Hello everyone i am new to the forum, i recently bought a 1952 B3b 108" WB truck. The previous owner did a partial restoration and the truck is in running and driving condition. The cab and frame are in good condition and appear to be rust free. The only thing is that the truck does not have a bed. Right now it has a flat bed made of wood with wooden side rails, it looks decent but i want to try to find an original bed for the truck. I was wondering if anyone knows of one for sale?

    Thanks for your help

    LOOOOOOOOK WHOOOOOOOO's BAAAAACK!

wheew! its been a while! so I finally got over that case of Pneumonia I was fighting for a while and just got my New welder, SOOOOOO now its time to get cracking back on the Old dodge before it gets too cold to work on it!

my welds look ugly but they hold up good and safe... I cant wait till I get my new Auto dark welding mask, but I got most of the floor of the cab welded back in and I just have a little bit more work to do on the floor, but the interior should be done this week! i'm going to hold off on redoing the seat till this winter, it will work fine till i find the right material to recover the seat. so after i ****on up the interior and get some paint on the floor It will most defiantly be time to get it running. I need to buy all the fluids and get The radiator back in/plugs/wires and I need to find A good original Break master cylinder ( I found a good price on one on ROCKAUTO.com and i gotta rebuild the carburetor and the old truck should start and run. Just small things to get it road worthy, I hear the back breaks are kind of a bear to work on?? any one have trouble with them??? NAPA said that there is a upper and lower wheel cylinders??

heres some picks of me welding the rest of the floor up

    ENJOY!

    Prepping the floor before welding

I dont like my current welding mask haha!

  4. Cover that gl*** up when welding and grinding. The sparks will pit the gl***. :)

Help! Can someone post a picture of their steering box location and tell me how long the bolts are to mount it! ?????

  9. Here's a couple I have.

I put all my sheetmetal back on, so I can't get an easy measurement for you on the bolts, but you should still have the holes on that extra piece mounted to the frame to find the box location.

thanks dan! once again you saved my ***! lol do you remember if the bolts went all the way through the frame? it seems to be set up just a little bit different than the pic you posted...same location just looks like your steering box is a little bit different.

    Just stumbled onto this thread.

Nice job on the restoration! Glad to see another Dodge kept original.

Roberts has the seat cover and pad kits.

Here's a company that makes new reproductions of the factory interior and sound insulation kits:

Are you still lookin' for runnin' boards?

I got the wires for the truck and managed to score a brand new 12 volt coil from a 70s dodge van the should work with the new 12v system that will be going on the truck!

ok so i got the shifter linkage hooked up on the truck. However.. there is this strange bracket ( the one I am holding in the second picture) that has a long rod the attaches to it with a cotter pin. i have no idea where it goes, the small bracket is attached to the top of the the transmission and seems to moove back and forth, what does it attach too? any ideas? i'm lost and my repair manual says nothing about it! HELP!

HERE IS THE ROD THAT ATTACHES TO THE BRACKET WITH A COTTER PIN..

Anyone??? Does anyone know what that is in my last post? I'm completly lost.... HELP!

  18. what transmission are you using?

  19. I think that's your throttle linkage to the Carb.

There's a rod that connects to the gas pedal on the driver side of the trans. Then there's a rod that goes from the back of the p***enger side of the trans to the carb.

I probably can't get you a picture till next week. Head over to the pilot house site and ask for pictures of how that linkage is setup.

I think you're right dan! I'm using the stock 3-on-the-tree 3speed trans... what happens if I drive without hooking it up . Is it something unneeded? (I know dumb question) ...

I believe that is the shift rod that attaches to the lever that moves up and down to allow the trans to select the 1st & reverse or 2-3 position. Take a look at the page attached.

Sorry everyone for the lack of updates! I haven't gave up on the Hotrod yet! Unfortunately I got pnumonia again and this time it was bad enough for me to have to be admitted to the hospital and w***up on antibiotics for 2 weeks! But i'm better now and i'm gonna get working on the ole pilothouse tomorrow! Gonna weld in the rest of the floor and seal it up! Found out auto zone carries br*** colored fuel lines so I think i'm gonna use those in the engine bay for the oil and fuel lines. Its gonna look awesome. Lots of pics to come!

Not to highjack this thread, but unless you are talking exclusively about 1/2 tons, this is inaccurate. Ford had a high side bed introduced in 1938 on its tonners. This same bed was used through 1952 on the F2 and F3s.

So whatvare you guys using for throttle/choke linkages i'm trying to figure out how I am going to set up/run my gas pedal and throttle cables since I don't have/can't find the original wacky looking throttle linkage to my truck? What's a good set up??!

    Throttle advice
    Anyone ? Lol

  28. Do you mean the gas pedal or the throttle knob on the dash?

If you mean the pedal, i can get some pictures of whats on my orig engine if it will help you fab something up.

The knobs on the dash are just cables that connect to the carb.

I mean the pedal/what to use for throttle linkage /cable in place of the original throttle stuff. I'm using the original carburetor with a 47 dodge sedan intake/exhaust manifold. I just can't figure out how i'm going to hook up the cloak and throttle cable.. hope this makes sense haha!
