Thank God for liberty, and God help the man who tries to take it away from me. I will never forget.

there is a lot of good stuff on history right now, the stories of everyday people who became heroes, when you see these stories of the little guy who risked his life and saved many others, it makes you proud to be an American, don't forget the iron workers, many came from all over the country to help, they helped to get people out of the wreckage, many risked their health and lives and worked tirelessly to help the rescue effort. They also took the entire mess apart. Many of those guys were volunteers, no one else could have done what they did

  4. Seems like only yesterday......A lot of hero's that day....

A truly "off the scale" event, still hard to believe after all these years. RIP all those lives lost.

I remember the day clear as hell. Was working uptown in manhattan. Listening to the radio and heard the news that a plane hit the WTC. I was thinking to myself damn that is a horrible joke. Someone rushes in 2 minutes later and confirms it. I was scared as hell for myself and many friends that work in that area. I walked home 13 miles, longest walk of my life. But can tell you i am so proud to be a NY'er, there was so much support from folks you didnt know. (that doesnt happen in ny.... really ever). Cant believe it has been 10 years. My hearts out to those who lost and my deepest gra***ude for all of the heros!

Ten years. It hardly seems that long.

It doesn't seem that there's a lot you can do now.
What I have been able to do is appreciate the brave work
firefighters and first-responders do; and thank them.

If any of my fellow HAMB'rs are firemen or police
or people who run, head-first, into danger...
thank you for helping innocent folks caught-up in trouble.

    Be safe.

  14. When the I heard heard the folks on the radio saying the first plane had hit one of the towers, I knew in my gut that it wasn't an accident.
Our country is still in the unsettled change that event caused, which was after the first attempt in 1993.
God bless all of the people that were killed and who suffer while surviving from the results. God bless us all to grow stronger in heart from this. We will know what to do.
I served in our military. I'm a peacetime vet with a short time in service with an honorable discharge. I'm proud to have served MY COUNTRY!

The city of Dublin Ohio where we reside has set up a field of rememberance.
There are 3000 4'X5' American flags in that field, you can not fathom 3000 of anything until you see those flags! Of course each one represents a life lost that day, not all the lost lives were Americans, but they lost their lives on American soil.
It has been 10 years, but in the history of this Country it is like 10 minutes!
Many more lives have been lost maintaing the Freedom That we should never take for granted!
May GOD Bless all those who perished on that fateful morning along with their families.
May GOD Bless all those that fight for the freedom that we continue to enjoy.
NEVER FORGET SEPTEMBER 11th 2001 IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN!

I had just pulled into the parking lot at work (Boeing Portland) and the disc jockey said they just heard an airplane had crashed into a building in NYC. They had nothing else at the time. I rushed in and one of the leads was on his computer and I told him to go online and any news service. Not much got done that day as everyone stood around computer screens in shock.

One of those moments one never forgets.

Lets not forget also the thousands of service personnel that have lost their lives because 9/11, not to mention the even more than have come home hurt and crippled.

May we never forget the 343 Firefighters and the 60 Law Enforcement officers that made the supreme sacrifice.

    God Bless America

  20. I remember feeling helpless. Totally helpless. And everyone around me not knowing what to do. I also remember the long lines at the blood banks because of the hope of survivors in the m***ive ruins. We all know now that it never was. The only survivors were those in the staircase of one of the towers. What was it? Around 13 people out of almost 3000? I remember all day the talks of possible 50,000 casualties. I remember going home that night and seeing the footage of people leaping out of the buildings: some of them holding hands all the way down. It brings me to my point. I love my country. My family has been here for a very long time. We as Americans, we might get knocked down, but we go down together. When we come back up, we come up swinging. Together. To all of you in other countries that helped us after that day, thank you. I will never forget. That's my promise.

I was working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on a defense contract. It was afternoon there. Turned on the TV about ten seconds before the second plane hit Tower Two. I knew instinctively what happened, and was 100% correct about who did it.

I left a few days later. I have never been back, and never will go back there. Ever.

the survivors were in the hotel in front of the towers, the first bomb went off and damaged it, so , there was a two year project to reinforce it with heavy steel beams, thats why it survived the first tower collapse and the small section of it survived the second tower collapse, they were in the exact right part of the building when they fell, there was an entire story on it, and how they survived ,fascinating stuff

wow 10 years ago already, watched some doco on it all last night, the first footage from the guys filming the firefighter crew in NYC hearing the plane and panning up to see it fly into the first tower still makes all my hair stand on end, its was first thing in the morning our time so all over morning TV remember being stunned and numb watching the second tower fall when I got to work, and talking to our American brothers here on the HAMB.

    God bless those who fell.

  25. I was gearing up to fly to Nevada for the Reno Air Races... needless to say it didn't happen!

The next year I bought the Program for that years race and the program for the "Greatest Air Race" that never happened.

  26. Lord please watch over those who lost love ones. We will prevail. God bless our troops.

I will NEVER forget. I was enraged and felt totally helpless. My prayers went and goes out to all of the victims. I will never forgive anyone who calls 911 an "unfortunate incident". This was an act of WAR! I will NEVER forget.

I was leaving to go to work when the news broke. Ran back inside, turned on the TV, saw the second plane hit. Went to work, we sat around a small TV that Phil brought in. Didn't fix any cars that day.
Next day, Charlie (boss) had the flag at half-mast outside the shop. That was real tough to look at. The eerie empty skies, won't forget that either......................
