I guess it depends on what your into, Thompson meets are my personal favorite. It's laid back with originals on display and cool stuff on the track. This is the best Nostalgia meet I know of regardless of who backs it or not. It's a cool old track and a majorly nostalgic field of cars but it's the track itself and the people who attend that make the show what it is. No lame rockabilly crap put before the cars, a lower than normal count of streetrods, rats and other unrelated stuff that most shows justify for head count. I think I'd drive six hours to go if I had to for what that's worth.

What I thought would be cool but now I'm not such a big fan of is when the 409 crowd is invited. Don't get me wrong I like those cars too but it changed the event...Waiting for them to limp down the track is more like a parade. If someone would bring a bathtub Pontiac or max wedge Mopar we might see one of those sheetmetal intake sporting modern W's run.

  3. Are you running your car? If so, you will get more opportunities at Thompson than any other track! The staff is the best and they go all out to fix the track when bad things happen. (oil down/rain) One of my favorite venues also.

Its going to be real light this year. There are a few different events going on that will take the car count down. Like Don said though, if you want to make multiple passes on a good track then its going to be great.

I love racing at Milan. Its a great track, and a great bunch of racers. It is a few hour drive for me, but its my track of choice.
