I managed to squeeze in 10 p***es! I would have done more but I was almost out of fuel.....Eli ran out while waiting to be parked!!! I think Jared hooked him up with a few gallons so he could run.

In my haste to get to the track, I forgot a few items back at the garage. Fortunately I pitted across the way from Charlie Padula's 334 coupe, and he lent me the necessary items to get through the day. Thanks again Charlie...

 

They had a nice starting line tribute to the cars of Gene's Speed Shop.

 

Robin and I had a great time this past Saturday!! thanks to everyone that work at this show!! I loved grudge racing my buds!! I hope this happens again next year. thank you to everybody. Jared

Many of us older motorheads keep the golden past of drag racing alive by reliving it in photos, in conversation and often times by the written word, but in Orange M*** on Sept 10 we had a chance to go back, after forty years, and bring back the past to the future. I not only got to race at a dragstrip that was such an important part of my life but I got to share it with my whole family. My wife, children, brother, sister, grand children and many old friends.
It was truly a unique experience for them to visit the past in real time!
I also had the pleasure to share my car with my son as we both took turns making p*** after p***! I started smiling at sun up and still have a smile you can see from space. The whole day was just amazing, how many people can say they were the first to race on a dragstrip that has been closed for forty years! A big thank you to John and his crew, you helped this old motorhead scrub off many years and it was a day i will never forget. The photos already posted have given a glimpse of what happened on saturday and i will incude a few, my car, a photo of me giving my son the helmet for his first p*** and of course my grandchildren enjoying the car as well. Even though it is a do***ented C/MP 55 chevy that ran in the sixties and seventies they are given a chance to enjoy it as well

 

Fatblockvelle....I know you had a great time rowing your gears!!!!!!!

 

This picture is a little fuzzy, but it is clear that Jared and Robin were enjoying their day at the drags.

 

To keep your engine temperature down some cars just pushed up to staging area. There is never a shortage of friends to help you get there.
