1946 Chevy Suburban (Carry-All)

Hey there,
Does anyone know the history of the 1946 Suburban? I just bought 46 that has the hatch back style of rear doors instead of the barn doors. How common are these? This thing is in great shape and I cann't wait to get started on the rebuild! Any other information would be of great help.
