Yeah I will re-work them similar to a 49-50 model... I completely agree, they don't flow well at all coming straight back instead of tapering off like the earlier models. I'll get to it... one day haha Started working on stepping the lower arms last night... pics soon.
I did my best Bass impersonation and tried to make the stepped a arm look like it could've come that way from the factory...
Bigger picture? Hard to tell on my phone I was thinking about doing a tech thread for the other arm... Even though there is already one for stepping lower arms... I took a little different approach though? What do you think?
Great looking lower arm. Do a tech post, yours turned out super smooth. I am sure others would like to see the process. How much did you step the arm, was it 2 inches?
Thanks guys! What's next for your 51 rob? If I can get the other one finished up tomorrow I'll post a tech thread. Might as well try for the baleigh bucks!
Thanks guys, felt a little crappy yesterday so I didn't have a chance to get the other one done. I'll take a bunch of pictures when I do the other one to show how I went about it. My favorite thing about this is that it didn't cost anything... I didn't have to order anything!
Metal work, metal work and more metal work! Just trying to find time to get my ass back in the garage. Life always gets in the way of having fun!
Really??? Dont give up on it, your just getting started! Get that suspension finished up and then chop it, it will renew your passion for it. I was gwtting burned out on mine, chop did me good!
My wife and I are having a baby girl in March and I've decided to focus on bikes. I will finish the suspension work in the front and rear and then put the fleetline up for sale.
Mods please delete this thread! That sucks! I really wanted to see this car finished!!!! Well, congrats on the baby girl!
I think you should reconsider. How are you going to carry all that baby stuff and a car seat on a bike. I think it would be great to bring your daughter home in the fleetline. Just my 2cents.
Congratulations on the new baby. She will Change your life for sure. Sure was hoping you would finish the fleet. Maybe one day you'll be patient enough to finish one. Might be better to buy yourself a driver that way you can enjoy it while you make changes.
