Corvair steering box

    I have a '64 Corvair steering box with a 49" shaft. I think it is from the Greenbrier Van. Can this still be used like the reversed car boxes? It looks the same except for that LONG shaft.

    Ya you would need to cut the shaft off to fit your needs

    Can I add a double-D welded to it? It IS hollow!

    Are you sure it's hollow. Had a bunch but never a hollow one. They all reverse the same. BTW, a Vega box reverses just like the Corvair.

    Thanks: maybe it's not --I was thinking of when I cut down my F-1 column.

    The Corvair van and truck use a very different box than the cars do... I don't think there is much that you could really use on for in our little corner of the world.

    Then this MUST be a '64 CAR steering box.???
