Howdy all, i'm fairly new to hot rod building. I restored a 61 Unibody pickup last year with some mild custom work, but nothing like what i'm about to start. Sweet truck! but I realized my true loves were born before 1950.

My dad took me to carshows as a kid and he had a couple restos, but never had the time to finish em. In highschool we all the prime musclecars, most were just beaters back then and didn't we put them to the test!
Got into alot of trouble with Johnny Law in those days, street racing, evading, reckless, etc....try that nowadays and be jailed!

I did 2 years of voc. tech mechanics back then with intentions of becoming a master mechanic, but jobs were scarce back then and by the time I found work "between parties" it was plumbing/pipefitting with the company my dad worked for. So I became a master turd herder instead, the pay was decent but I always hated the work, the dirty work, if ya know what I mean! Fitting wasn't bad, but dirty turlets, no thanks!

Was always into buying and reselling stuff, got that from dad too. And i've always liked the old stuff, antiques and collectibles, etc. So when ebay came along I jumped on that wagon and have been running a successful online business ever since. It's been almost 15 years and I still enjoy getting up in the morning to start my work.

Fast forward 30 years and 3 kids later, the chillins all grown but none interested in cars unfortunately, much as I tried : (

So about it in a nutshell, i'm looking for a beginner build and had some questions when I found this HAMB site. I'll post my question on the main board.

Can anyone tell me if a 78 Monte Carlo ch***is is a good match for a 41 Chevy coupe?....I'm looking to buy it as an unfinished project and the owner claims the front tires rub when cornering because the coils are weak.......or is the ch***is too wide?......Also the rocker/running boards are cut off, either that or it's a 1940 coupe with missing boards, not a 41.
