Some people take photographs -- this is art, really captures the spirit of dry lakes racing, the expressions on the drivers ready to run, the home-made engineering that racers do because they love to go fast, not for money or fame......THANKS FOR POSTING!!!

  7. You're not kidding there! The forcast was not looking good but what we got was beautiful! My wife Kathy and I camped in the back of the open pickup bed and watch the stars, clouds and a near full moon go by. Beautiful just Beautiful! :D

Outstanding pics and a lot of them! After being there many times, It never gets old standing at the starting line when a car gets pushed off, then fires...the sound is incredible!

Ya see Doug, this is the reason I don't gamble. I was sure it was going to be a wash out, what with all the rain and thunder down in the valleys. So, I decided to save my self some time and coin and not come up. I'm glad you shot and posted your photos, I can live vicariously through what you posted. Thanks Doug, sorry I missed ya.....again. We should meet up at the NHRA museum soon and grab some chow.

Good job Doug!!----Great pix!!---Especially the close ups. Ol' Gene sure has a radical caster on that front end!
The technology is sure evident & a far cry from 1948 lakes!!------Don

Thanx for some extra cool pix. You really took us to the lakes. Everyone looks to be having a really great time and enjoying them selves. Gene Winfield is one of my alltime heros, and his pix here are really special. I feel so fortunate to have spent time around him at the Salina KKOA, he is a motivator for us cats with a tinge-o-gray to keep on keepin on. Just really neat coverage!! ~sololobo~
