I say ,The moral of this story is to allways be curtious to your neibors when they come to complain about your noise!

Your neioghbor may scowl and whine a lot, but you might think about taking the time to also Thank the "nosey" neighbor for making you loss NOT be a total loss....along with the house and garage.

Nice neighbor to have around. You are lucky. Take a look at a post I put up about a friends battery charger and the dire consequences.

As for loaning things I always heard there are three things you DON'T loan out.... your car, chain saw or your wife..... too easy to throw a rod in any one of 'em.

  5. Sorry about your disaster - hope ya get it fixed soon. Glad ya didn't loose the whole car and the house too....

I've been there myself. One car fire, near fire (toasted wires) in another car and a complete burndown of our office - total loss. Yeah, I'm nervous about fires now!

My two chargers have no fuses either - that's a worry. I never liked to leave one unattended for too long a time.

But the lesson learned is carry a BE - Big Extinguisher and hope ya catch it in time! Got one bloted to the floor of the roadster now. Right in plain sight - as long as it's not stolen, we may be ready.

There is only one guy I know that I'd loan stuff to. Von Rigg Fink. He's so ****ing **** the **** comes back better than I ever had it. I also know that I plan to take whatever of his back in a similar condition.

That fuse thing would chafe my *** but I also am a freak about charging batteries and don't put anything flamable around them and typically do it out of the vehicle. Or at least I'd like to say I would (just like so many have already). In the end, if it were the path of least resistance, I probably would have done the same exact thing you did. My neighbors are 300 feet in either direction minimum so I'd have probably lost the whole thing.

Sorry for your luck but thanks for posting it up so we can all think twice about it.

A good one I saw on a toolbox. "The Man Who Loans Tools Is Away Today".

Did you buy your neighbour the $20.00 or $50.00 bunch of flowers and chocolates?

So true.....a friend of mine owns 5 Ferraris and a new Vette. The other day he asked to borrow an Allen wrench. Huh? Go spend one dollar at the chinese tool store and buy a whole set! Yikes.

Sorry to hear about your truck. This really ****s.:(
