So how is the hot cable routed to the starter from the silinoid on a 49 ford car? under the motor?, on top the ******? through one sparkplug hole and out the other?

Also should the post on the starter point up or down??

post faces up towards fender, cable is routed under oil pan along frame, there should be some clips there.make sure u have the support bracket from inside(close to oil pan) bolt that attaches to the oil pan.Makes for beytter grounding of starter and support.Good luck flatheads forever.
