28 on Deuce Rails @ Langley Cruise

I spied this drop dead gorgeous 28 on Deuce rails at the Langley cruise. Pix aren't that great, but the car sure was purrrdy.

Question: Does anyone recognize the grille shell?

No clue on the shell but a beautiful roadster !

 

My guess is an International pick up.

No...I'm still kicking myself. It was high noon and unseasonably hot. Photo ops were ugly. I was worn out from walking past 999 other cars. Then I stumbled across this one. Man I just about fainted. It's just kick ass (can I say that here?...L-O-L). The owner needs to know that

Surely someone else shot some pix...or maybe the owner lurks here?

Hi Dave: You really nailed it, my friend. Excellent job of putting together the right parts. Some of those neatoldstuff parts look very familiar and I am happy to see them find a good home. Leaving in a few weeks for the Hot Rod reunion in Bakersfield, will
see what I can find at the swap meet. Dale is coming over from Tucson. Again, a great job on a "real" Hot Rod

Thanks for the compliments! That was the first day out of the garage in 4 years. There's a few bugs to work out, but nothing serious.

I bought the grille 6 years ago from a local old timer who thought it was from a French commercial vehicle...still remains unknown. The color is Model A Gun Metal Blue in nitrocelulose lacquer.

It was a long build and had lots of help from many friends. Hoping to put some miles on her while the weather is nice.

Beautiful car. While I might have chosen a different grille and headlights, it's perfect for the owner so it's perfect for me too!!! Great looking engine, great color and a nice example of 18" wheels working on a hot rod.

 

Hey Dave! Wow! You finally got it on the road. Congrats man, You take about as much time as me building a car. Looks killer. I see my dad piped in on this thread. He don't do that for just anybody you know. Are you bringing it down for the Reunion next month or are you flying in? Post some more pictures. You have a right to be proud.
