guys. we would really like to make this into a traditional car show / drag race every year on a saturday. the friday night event is sort of a test to see what kind of interest is in it in this neck of the woods. please help make this a success.

This guy [bunky koth] is a friend of mine. He is a member of the southern slingshots. He told me he would be there and maybe some of the other members.

 

Hey guys I know I'm new on here but thought I'd put this out there. Midway Dragstrip sits about a 1/4mile south of the US 521 and US 52 intersection. I used to go there back when 10 inch tire cars were starting to get really hot on this area about 5 years ago. The track is laid out really well with lots of flat parking in and outside of the pit area and lots of shutdown room for the race cars. Bathrooms used to be nice for a local track. I hated it when they closed down even though it's a 3+ hour ride for me to get there because it was a place you could take a family to. Sorry to be so long winded but I hope the track can stay open because I like to outings like the one you are posting about happen at lots of tracks. High octane, burning rubber and cool old cars, maybe even some cool old people. What could be better.

 

thank you. thats the kind of attitude we need. nostalgia racing seems to be happening every where but here.i'm sick of bracket racing and grudge racing. i don't care who wins. i just want to see good old drag racing like the old days.

 

went and did a recon mission! looks good!

ok. i'm not to good of a promoter. our little drag race is this fri.night. we need all the participation we can get for this thing so we can have something on a sat. and sat night later on. but right now we've got to prove to the owners that nostalgia stuff is a big deal. even if you dont want to race, please come and help support us. yea i know fri. night ain't to convenient, but thats the only time we could get for now. thanks to all yall thats helping.........edweird.
