I'm looking for a recommendation on a pair of mufflers that have a low rumble during excelleration and minimum "crackle and pop" when backing off. I was told that the HAMB would be able to help! My car is a 2004 Ford Mustang GT with the 4.6L V8 engine. Right now I'm using a pair of Delta Flow 2.25" mufflers that are a little too quiet. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Your in the wrong place bud. You should try a Mustang forum, your mustang is wildly off topic on this board. Chuck
Before the Off Topic police come in screaming, i'll say Welcome, and your friends are right about the HAMB having tons of advice about good sounding pipes- do searches for Smitty's, Porters, and i'm sure there are tons more around - lots of info (just delete the part about what car it's going on) Personally i think wanting a cool tone to your ride is as traditional as it gets and coming here for insite about specific parts of your car is fine with me. Just dont post pics, lol... ps, there are good youtube vids of exhaust clips for comparison. -rick
At least he did a proper intro, so the police should give him credit for that. I build my own mufflers, the only off the shelf ones I've used in the last 20 years are what are known as "turbo" mufflers.
The 4.6 mod motors have unique sound characteristics and even though we make them I would NOT recommend using Smithy's (or Porters, Cherry Bombs, or the like) on a late model Mustang. The drone will drive you nuts in a car like that. Go to a Mustang forum and you'll find high quality Mustang systems like JBA are what sound best on that car.
V8 rear wheel drive! Try a Corsa system. I know Borlas sound awesome behind these engines from experience. Or how bout straight pipes?
I had magnaflow ultra(?) turbos on my 04 and it sounded very nice. It was deep but not irritating. Sounded CLEAN like it should have from the factory.
