360 MoPar, B&M modified 727 TorqueFlite, Volare rear-end, VintageAire, power discs frt./drums rear. Bone stock "sleeper" look for now.

 

Oh man, that's awesome. I'd think customizing the body could only detract from it.

here's a shot of my 49 Plymouth SD from earlier today.

 

Here is a shot of My 1950 Plymouth Club Coupe the day we bought her. I'm going to repaint her as soon as I can.

 

My first car was a 53 Belvedere hardtop. I paid $250 for it in 1985....absolutely perfect body. I wish I had it back.

However....I sold it to buy the 54 Ford that I still have.

 

My 51 Plymouth Cranbrook:


Bought it for 500 bucks, got it running and driving. I used it for a while to go to my parents house and the grocery store instead of my 65 Ford F100 daily driver. Probably only put on a few hundred miles on it, no way of knowing since the speedometer screwed up after 100 miles of driving. It had a split exhaust manifold I sold it this spring and made a little bit of a profit. I still have my 50 Coronet which I finally got my title for. Hopefully that car will be on the road before all the leaves drop off the trees.

Thanks Larry, it looks better in pics though but it's been virtually untouched since the 80's before I got it. In PA we need inspection every year, but only once for antiques (which is how it was registered) and last inspection was in 1986. And whose name was on the back of the sticker? My step-dad's! That's pretty cool IMO. I've seen your blog and youtube video...ran across them when I was researching gettin the car. How's progress coming?

Here is my 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe Club Coupe.

 

My 51 cranbrook. Runs, drives, stops and only cost me $300 bucks. I put new floors, rockers, resided the whole car and redid the interior.

 

Some nice Mopars for sure!

Here's my dad's 51 he has thought about scrapping. Somebody save her

I know and I definitely don't want that to happen. Hopefully it finds a home soon.

Seeing ones if here make me see how cool these can look, but I've already got enough projects. Can't go wrong with flames and a nice story on that blue grandpa car. I'd like to see more pics of the 2 seater conversion. I like yours too, the silver gives it a luxury look. I like that front wheel that was on it before.

 

It's ok to do a 4 door if you ask me. Some of us are on budgets, and it makes it more affordable to get in the seat of an old car. We bought this one about two years ago for my daughter ($1,200) as you see it when it was blue. It has the small hemi in it and it ran just fine. We did the car ourselves, and yes, my daughter, learned a lot about all that miserable hand sanding in all the jambs, dash, etc., along with any other "grunt" work I could pile on her, but she's got a decent looking car to drive now, and she can appreciate the meaning of hard work and sweat.

 

I have posted my 52 Plymouth Beveledere hardtop wagon, that has been resting and rusting for the last 15 years. it was still 4 projects down on my list.

Had a customer that was interested. I loved the car and hated it sitting in the rain another winter. So I gave him the wagon and sold him the spare parts.

He's had it 6 weeks. went thru 150 sq.ft. of sheet metal floors, fire wall, patch panels. the frame stripped and painted and the body is in primer. wow!! he said it's been a labor of love. and I will be proud (a little jealous) to see him drive it next year.

 

Adding a few more pictures of "Betty" to this thread. We just can't get enough of this car. Bought it in April/May 2010 with 21,000 orig miles on it. restored it Winter 2010-Spring 2011 and she now has almost 26,000 orig miles on her! We drive this car everywhere and youd really be surprised how much attention it gets...i know we are.
