Dropped a new cam and lifters into the tired 305 in my Binder (followed the Fat Hack recipe in the tech-o-matic) and after getting it all together, and breaking in the cam, ****** started puking out the dipstick tube. First time, engine was pretty hot from cam break-in and started a pretty good fire underneath. Got that dealt with and went back to tinkering last night. Everytime I get it going and then shut it off, could hear something like pressure building in the cooler lines and 10 seconds later, the puking begins. Oil level in ****** is fine, checked the vent and it seemed okay, and the ****** worked fine 1 week ago. What am I missing and WTF? Is the ****** ****ped out? No big deal if so, but budget constraints prefer the easiest fix.
It couldn't be something odd like you bolted up the ****** and never got the drive lugs lined up on the torque convertor, squashed some stuff? Just a guess, as I just can't see what could cause the problem you've got.
The vent could be plugged but that shouldn't happen with just a cam change. Is the trans overfilled? or as was suggested the convertor boltup , is the trans oil that hot or is it just pushing it out??
Are you using a ****** cooler or cooling it thru the rad? If you are maybe the internal cooler is leaking & its causing pressure in the ****** !! just a guess. its pretty lame but its the only thing i can think of!!lol JimV
