Chevy 235 Offy 4 barrel manifold

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hb32, Sep 7, 2011.

  1. I see reference to this elusive manifold but can`t seem to find a picture or one. Did they actually make one? Research indicates that in the lower rpm range for a street application, the Offy is better then the Clifford. Looking for a 4 barrel upgrade in my stock 55 pickup.

Look up Alliance member Exeter Auto Parts they are the "go to" guys for anything Offenhauser.

  3. Offy is not repopping the 216-235-261 single quad manifolds so it would have to be ancient.

Don't know much about the Offy intake, but I had a Clifford 4bbl intake on my 235. The end cylinders always ran lean, while the center ones ran rich. Used a Roch 4GC for a carb.

Planning to replace it with an Offy a 3x1, or maybe a 2x1 intake.

Does anyone know the quality of the new Offy intakes? Bought a new set of Offy valve covers, (about 1994), and they were a pretty poor casting.

  7. Not the 4 barrel versions only 2X1`s and 3X1`s. There must be some old school 6 banger types on here?
